Great Group Coaching: Realism Vs Repetition
Attracting and then retaining more players in our sport is essential to the growth of the game. To accommodate this, coaches provide many types of group sessions within their programmes. However, dealing with 6-8 players on one court can be challenging. This CPD gives practical ideas on how to effectively work with larger groups and provide them with a purposeful session.
The session explores the benefits of repetition whilst acquiring skill and how to maintain tactical realism as the lesson progresses.
Based on varying tactical scenarios, the session focuses on the organisation of players. This includes where to place players on court; what type of feed is required; 2 balls in play on one court; staggered practice; differentiation of standards using the STEP principle.
Other Information:
Coaches will still receive 4 CPD points for their attendance. It is also a valid elective module for the LTA Instructor (Level 2) qualification.
